I've been hit up by a half-dozen publishers myself, but they are all "pay-to-play" who want $5,000 or more upfront from ME just to get started, with upselling based on the marketing strategy I select. I'd have to sell thousands of books just to recover my out-of-pocket, forget any actual profit.

I figure if my book is good enough to sell that many copies, then I'd rather do the work myself. Thanks for the affirmation on that.
