Jesus had many different ways of motivating the people He encountered. He personalized it for each unique circumstance. He directly confronted the sin of the woman at the well. He chose an abstract method of dealing with Nicodemus. He dealt with the money changers in the temple in an angry, somewhat violent fashion.
